Madake Koshirae (balanced and finished by hand) Nakabuto (medium thickness) Shinai.
Assembled with a double Tsukagawa sewed by hand, for optimum durability; Seiho is a wonderful well balanced Madake (giant timber bamboo) Shinai, carefully shaved and finished by hands of an artisan, leaving it on the light-weight spectrum without becoming Jissengata or competition type. It only adds 1mm to the Tsuka diameter compared with standard models, for a comfortable grip sensation. This type of bamboo (Madake) tends to be more durable in dryer climates, because it is denser than Keichiku, meaning that it can retain longer moisture and dry out slower (if oiling or maintaining it properly), but at the same time, its density makes the bamboo more rigid (at least less flexible than Keichiku), which will be felt when striking; It bends less easily than Keichiku, so it gives a firm sensation on each strike.
* Specially recommended for countries with low levels of humidity or dry weather.
* SSP Approval: This Shinai follows the actual All Japan Kendo Federation designated regulations.
* The size of Tsuba/Tsubadome set is designated by the Shinai size when the option for adding them is selected. If you want to buy a specific size of Tsuba/Tsubadome set, you need to purchase them as a separate item.
* Assembled Shinai; Leather fittings/parts included.
