Top Tying Men Chichikawa (Kansai Style) - Premium Leather
Premium quality leather Men Chichikawa for the Top Tying style.
Chichikawa is the piece of leather (or sometimes fabric) where you attach the Men-Himo to the Mengane (metal bars). This is the long Chichikawa (approx. 40 cm) for the top tying also known as Kansai Style, made in two folded flat layers of thick leather (TOCHIGI genuine cowhide) and Toray Ultrasuede on the back, sewed together for optimum durability.
Users of the Kansai Style knot have mentioned many times their Men Chichikawa usually wears out quickly, due to the location it goes (above the Men), where the Shinai will usually hit. For this reason, we made a really thick and durable Men Chichikawa in collaboration with Dannoya; one of the Kendo artisans we work with. Danno Hiroyuki, professional Design & Art background (Tokyo Zokei Daigaku), crafts many items by hand for us!
